Not all Homecoming events require registration.

The following events do require pre-registration by Friday, September 20, 2019:

  • Alumni & Friends Homecoming Golf Tournament
  • 2019 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
  • Homecoming Parade Entry
  • Hotel Hickory

All fees must be paid for registration to be complete. Refunds cannot be issued after the registration deadline.

On-Campus Accommodations


Hickory Residence Hall

On campus accommodations are available in Hickory Hall for alumni & friends during Homecoming Weekend. Live the "Suite Life" for the weekend in a climate-controlled semi-suite with a private bathroom. Due to increased enrollment and students choosing to reside on-campus, semi-suite (B units) will be available to alumni & friends during Homecoming Weekend.

Guests may check-in at Hickory Hall on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday during the times below.

Check-In:

  • Thursday, Oct. 3, 3 PM - 11 PM
  • Friday, Oct. 4, 7 AM - 11 PM
  • Saturday, Oct. 5, 7 AM - 11 PM

Check-Out:

  • Saturday, Oct. 5, 7 AM - 11 AM
  • Sunday, Oct. 6, 7 AM - 11 AM

Check-out is required by Sunday, Oct. 6 by 11 AM.

On-campus accommodations are $50 per person, per night. Overnight accommodations include bed linens. We encourage our guests to visit our local downtown businesses to enjoy breakfast each morning and catch up on old times.

Garden Bar

Center Quad of Campus (outdoor)

Relax on campus Friday night at the Garden Bar in the center quad of campus. Listen to music, engage with faculty & staff, students and fellow alumni as you sip your favorite beverage next to a warm fire in the crisp fall air. Bluestone Brewing Company will be on site offering a variety of craft beers, wine, craft sodas, and water. Wild Events will also be on site offering 1/3 pound burgers (choice of Elk, Buffalo, Venison, or Wild Boar) with chips and drink for $10.00. Taste the Wild!

Must be 21 years of age or older to consume. Photo I.D. required.

2019 Special Honorees will enjoy a complimentary dinner at the Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony by registering here. All other guests, please register using the Other Guests option.

PRISM

Steadman Theatre

Among the most popular events presented annually by the Mansfield University Music Department, PRISM, will amaze twice during Homecoming Weekend!

Performances will be held on Friday, October 4 and Saturday, October 5 at 7:30 PM in Steadman Theatre.

Featuring 20 musical groups with more than 200 musicians in just 75 minutes, guests will enjoy a musical prism of sound uninterrupted by pause or applause for a theatre-in-the-round experience.

The concert offers a wide variety of music - from jazz to classical styles and everything in between, as well as a wide range of ensembles, big and small, instrumental and vocal.

Pricing:
  • Adult - $10
  • Seniors/Non-MU Students - $5
  • MU Students - Free with ID

Butsko Breakfast

North Manser Dining Room

The Butsko Breakfast has been an annual event since 1986 to honor the memory of former Mountaineer assistant coach Frank Butsko who was killed in an automobile accident during a recruiting trip. The highlight of the Butsko Breakfast is the presentation of the Frank Butsko Award. It is the most prestigious award that can be bestowed on a Mountaineer football player. The Butsko Breakfast is open to all guests.

Tailgate Competition

Upper N Lots (above Steadman Theater)

Leading up to kickoff of the Homecoming football game versus Alderson Broaddus University, students and alumni are encouraged to participate and compete in a tailgate competition. Tailgates will be evaluated in three categories: Most Creative, Best School Spirit, and Largest Tailgate by way of Fan Base. Tailgates will be judged by university faculty & staff persons and representatives from the Mansfield University Alumni Association. Winners will be announced at halftime and presented with their prize.

The tailgate competition will be in the upper E Lots. Access to establish your tailgate will be available on Friday, Oct. 4 beginning at 5 p.m. No check-in is required. Tailgates will be judged on Saturday prior to kickoff at approximately noon. Tailgate space for the competition is available on a first come first served basis. Tailgate responsibly. Go Mounties!

Wild Events will also be on site offering 1/3 pound burgers (choice of Elk, Buffalo, Venison, or Wild Boar) with chips and drink for $10.00. Taste the Wild!

"Spirit of the Ages" Competition

Karl Van Norman Field

During the first half of the football game, alumni and students will have the opportunity to compete against one another in a "Spirit of the Ages" competition. At the football game, there will be designated student and alumni sections. Each section will be evaluated on three categories: Most School Spirited, Loudest Cheering Section, and Largest Participation in Fan Base. The "Spirit of the Ages" competition will be judged by university faculty & staff persons and representatives from the Mansfield University Alumni Association Board of Directors. At halftime of the football game, the winning section will be announced. The winners will walk away with, pride! Who has more school spirit? Current MU Students or Alumni? Be a part of this new tradition and cheer on our Mountaineers to victory.
